Spin Genie self-exclusion, and the limits on one account

Its self-exclusion is written to reach every account on that licence that Spin Genie knows you hold, PlayOJO and Slingo included, so list each one when you ask. A freeze or a deposit limit stays on the one account you set it on.

How far each Spin Genie tool reaches
- Self-exclusion
- Six months to five years. You can’t ask to reopen within 180 days, and once it ends, reopening needs a phone call or a visit in person, and then a 24-hour cooling-off wait before your accounts on the licence can be used again.
- Freeze or cooling-off
- A day, or anything from one to six weeks. Your PlayOJO or Slingo account stays open meanwhile unless you freeze it too or choose a self-exclusion.
- Deposit limits
- Daily, weekly or monthly, and the strictest one counts. A lower limit takes effect at once, a higher one after 24 hours. Set one on every account you keep if you want it everywhere.
- Reality check
- A message on the game screen after the number of minutes you choose, with buttons to carry on, see your history or close the game.
- SafeMate
- An in-account view of your spending, results and time over the last six months, with trend graphs for the last four weeks. Its totals combine play across the casinos SkillOnNet operates, so your accounts at sister sites can show up in it.

GAMSTOP, and why GamProtect isn’t enough on its own
GAMSTOP costs nothing and reaches every online operator licensed by the Gambling Commission, including brands with no link to Spin Genie. The shortest minimum is six months. Longer choices run to one year or five years, and the five-year option can renew automatically. The exclusion doesn’t just lapse when that minimum is up. Its terms say exclusions usually take effect within 24 hours but promise neither that timing nor a complete block, which is why the steps below add blocking software.
Register with the same name, address and email you use at the casinos. Spin Genie’s terms say a GAMSTOP registration under different details needn’t be honoured. GamProtect runs in the background, a shared customer view operated by Tutelar that Spin Genie’s privacy policy describes, and when GamProtect can’t be reached, the terms place no restriction on your account in connection with it. That’s why the casino’s own self-exclusion and GAMSTOP together are safer than either alone.
Device blockers add a third layer. Gamban and BetBlocker, once installed on a phone or laptop, keep gambling sites and apps from opening there before any casino has checked who you are, so the licence’s 49 other brands are shut out along with other gambling sites.

Gambling blocks on your bank card
Banks and card providers on GamCare’s list can block gambling payments on a debit card, and Spin Genie’s responsible gaming page points to that list. Ask your bank exactly what its block covers, and remove saved payment details from any casino account you’ve used. Neither step can promise that every payment is stopped, so keep a self-exclusion at each casino where you hold an account.
